Actually in my interpretation it was like: "Train goes as fast as its slowest car", cos, you know, I'm into talking about slow stuff and slowpokes ;).
And actually there's not much to do with wisdom, since it's more or less a gentle form of an insult.
you said last though ;) either way, if it's an insult or not depends only on the situation. of course, in the one you mentioned it, it tended rather to this side. however, i think it is applicable to nearly anything in life that has dependencies on more than one thing... so this is why i categorized it as some bit of wisdom.. maybe observation would be better though.
