Being in the middle of the European Championships, the issue of patriotisms surfaced again. It's a part of culture that feels a bit strange to me, and I wonder how you feel about it. Should one be patriotic, and why (or why not)? And what classifies as it?
In this sense, I invite you (even ask you) to share your ideas on the matter with me. To get started, I will attach an extract from a dictionary.

Mainly patriotism is a stretch
what for? over what?
stretch ~ exaggeration. I'm too lazy to extend my point :).
I love my city, I love walking its narrow streets. I like when it's raining and the waves of freshness. I enjoy going to bards' concerts in the courtyard of "teachers' home".
I have there people and I appreciate very much what we've gone through together to understand ourselves and the meaning.
I have personal memories. I have collective memories - the history. I appreciate this knowledge.
I don't want to run from the problems that we have, I want to solve them. I am ready to defend all this (and many things I did not mention) if I need to. This is what patriotism is for me.
I don't like extreme patriotism which acquires a shape of extreme nationalism usually. A country, a culture can not exist on it's own, it interacts with other cultures. Sometimes it merges with other cultures, it evolves all the time.
hope you enjoy this result of procrastination :) thanks for attention
